"Timmer began selling and renting bicycles in 1869. He also founded the first cyclists' riding school in the Netherlands. Timmer probably initialised the foundation of the first Dutch bicycle works by selling a velocipede to Henricus Burgers, a smith from Deventer. Burgers then went on to produce his own bicycles in 1869, thus becoming the father of the Dutch bicycle industry.


This was a remarkable step, as it took some 15 to 20 years before other large bicycle works were founded in Holland." (sursa)

Burgers, founded in 1864, was around 1900 the largest Dutch bicycle factory. 'Simplex' was the only real Dutch competitor. The other competitors where foreign.

Burgers was known for its qualitative eminent bicycles. It was a advanced and innovating enterprise which used the words 'quality' and 'pioneer' not in vain. (sursa)

When Timmer went on a business trip to the town of Deventer he met a brilliant blacksmith named Henricus Burgers. Timmer sold one of Michaux's first wooden velocipedes to Burgers. Burgers studied the model carefully and by the end of 1869 he began to manufacture his own bicycles. His factory was a success. Today, Burgers is acknowledged as the founder of the Dutch bicycle industry.

compania intemeiata de firarul din Deventer produce biciclete si in ziua de azi ... iar brandul burgers este unul foarte drag olandezilor ... un nume de casa ... un reper in istoria bicicletei olandeze ... un adevarat simbol national :)

sansele erau destul de mici dar uite ca s-a intamplat :D
prima e o bicicleta mai sportiva, gen sport-tourer ... a doua e o bicicleta relaxata de promenada , gen omafiets


amandoua sunt foarte foarte dragutze si elegante ... amandoua sunt biciclete de cea mai buna calitate ... amandoua sunt super prietenoase si fun to ride (chiar daca au filme total diferite) ... si cel mai important amandoua si-au gasit partenera umana la recomandarea mea :D
si bag mana-n foc ca amandoua sunt genul de biciclete pe care le iubesti din ce in ce mai mult pe masura ca ajungi sa le cunosti mai bine :)
asa e cand mergi pe mana mea in alegerea bicicletei ... nu te alegi doar cu o bicla ... te alegi cu o bicicleta pe care incepi sa o iubesti inca dinainte sa ajunga la tine si care ti se potriveste de minune ... si in plus primesti si o poveste ... traditie/istorie/pozitionare de brand :)))

glumesc evident ... sunt niste bicle cinstite pe care le-as fi recomandat cu caldura si daca nu stiam toata traditia din care se trag :D ... da parca e alt film cand stii ca pedalezi pe o bucata de istorie :) ...pe un fier cu pedigree ... macar esti mai atent cu bicla respectiva si faci o investitie intr-un antifurt de calitate ;)
covrigul din poza de mai jos (pe portbagaj) nu are nici o relevanta istorica ... nu provine de la o firma de renume ... si nu cred ca are o poveste foarte interesanta ... adica daca o dramatizezi bine de cand era el bob de grau pana l-a mancat razvan sau nea gelu cine stie ce iese :D
aniways e un covrig cu susan care o ardea destul de dubios ... pentru cine e curios :)
